Welcome to the 25th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival. I am sorry to be so late in posting this today. It has been another crazy week, and an especially crazy day. Once again, unfortunately, I did not get time to go looking for visits to fill out our trip. Thankfully there were people that did submit invitations to visit this week so we still get to go for a trip, we just don't get to visit in every province. Anyway, let's get started!
We'll start this trip in Alberta at Scrapbookers Clubhouse where Ali tells us to be sure to check out their November Guest Design Team Member Contest. To enter the contest you are asked to make an altered item for the Thanksgiving table. The deadline is October 26th so there's time left to check it out and give it a try. Let us know if you do. We'd love to see what you create, whether you are the lucky one chosen or not.
Our next stop is in Quebec to visit with Nathalie as she shows us a layout she made for a crop challenge at Scrapbook Estrie in a post titled Pauvre ti-loup.
After that we're off to New Brunswick where we have a first time invitation from Nicole to visit CompuPro Scrapbooking. This is a great Canadian based scrapping forum, open to everyone. They posted some really great challenges for World Card Making Day and they are featuring these challenges on their blog in the coming days. I was intrigued by the Faux Metal - Heat Embossing challenge as soon as they posted it. The instructions were clear and easy, and the result was amazing. I had to try it, and I loved it! I will definitely be doing it again. Be sure to check it out.
Before we leave New Brunswick we'll stop in and visit with Noella at her Creatively Yours Sketch blog as she tells us about November's CY Guest Designer Contest! she is currently running. Be sure to stop by and check out all the details of this "2-step" contest.
Next we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali as she shares a layout "that combines an "imperfect photo" with a perfect memory" in a post titled Daniel, my sweet boy....
We'll end this trip at my place in Newfoundland and Labrador as I share my World Card Making Day Creations with you and explain how I managed to fulfill 15 challenges in just 9 projects!
And that's the end of this trip. Sorry it's so short but life has been crazy. If you'd like to ensure that we have longer trips make sure you send us an invitation each week to visit with you and encourage your friends to do the same. If you there weren't any visits in your provinces this time around, make sure there is a least one visit there next time by sending us an invitation to visit with you. I might find time next week to drum up extra visits, but I might not too, so the more invitations people send in the better it will be.
Thank you to each of you that did invite us to visit this time. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to send in an invitation this week. Thank you to those of you that came along for the trip. Be sure to take time to thank the hosts by leaving a comment on their blogs.
I'm considering trying to put together some kind of Canadian Scrappers Blog awards program, just for fun. The awards would include banners or buttons for the winners to place on their blogs, as well as prizes that may be donated by businesses and/or individuals that would like to donate. There would be a number of different awards, with probably an award for a favorite blog in each province as well as over all favorite blogs for different categories, such as Best Tutorials, Best Sketches, Most Entertaining, Most Informative, Best Store Blog, Best Challenge blog, etc. People would nominate blogs for the different categories and then a list of the top ones would be made and people would get to vote for the winners. I'd love to hear what you think of the idea. You can either leave a comment or send me an email with your thoughts.
If all goes well the next edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival will be posted next Thursday, October 16th. Please take the time to send us on invitation to visit your blog before then.
Thanks, and happy scrappin'!
