No Carnival this week - or next month

Sorry for being late in posting this but due to that fact that I didn't recieve any submissions this week, there will be no carnival this week.

Life has been pretty crazy around my house lately and with NaNoWriMo about to start it promises to just get crazier. Because of my involvement in the NaNoWriMo I will be taking a break from posting the Carnival during the month of November. Therefore, unless I get inundated with submissions and outcries against the break, the next Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival will be posted on Thursday, December 4. That gives you all lots of time to write and submit. :)

27th Edition

Welcome to the 27th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival. Due to some more craziness at my place, it is another short trip this week. Thankfully we did get some submissions this week so let's get started on our trip.

We'll start this trip in British Columbia where we'll stop in to visit with Lois as she asks us about our scrapping habits in a post titled "It's Saturday Night".

Next, in Alberta we'll pop in to Scrapbookers Clubhouse where Nicole sings the praises of Un-Du in a post titled Scrappy Salute: Un-Du!! This stuff sounds amazing!

After that we have a long trip over a lot of provinces before we hit New Brunswick for our next visit at Noella's Creatively Yours as she says "Here are the 9 November Guest Designer Finalists! Once again!". Some computer glitch meant she had to do a repost, but there sure weren't any glitches in the cards the ladies made! PR person Ali says, "The 12x12” Step 2 sketch is posted! And… stay tuned, ‘cause December is coming!! You know what that means - another 2 guest designers will be needed at CY!"

Our last stop is with Ali in Nova Scotia as she shares a layout filled with Pix at Six and tells us a little about her youngest. She also sent me a secret message saying she's serving carrot cake and whipped cream to blog visitors - anyone wanna join me in visiting? :)

And that's the end of this short, quick trip across the country visiting with scrappers along the way. Hopefully the next trip will be longer because you all will be inspired to send us an invitation to visit your blog and see what you've been up to lately.

If all goes well the next edition will be posted Thursday, October 30. Be sure to send your submission in ASAP so that you don't forget. Hope to hear from you all before the deadline.

26th Edition

Welcome to the 26th edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival! Once again it's been a crazy week with no time to drum up extra visits, but thankfully we had a number of submissions this week so we still have a pretty full trip. Let's get started!

We'll start this trip at my place in Newfoundland and Labrador where I'll show you More Origami Christmas Tree Cards.

Next we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali as she shows us 4 New Creations she's posted on her blog.

Moving over into New Brunswick we've been invited to revisit Noella's Creatively Yours blog for a second look at the Designer Contest. Ali says, "Ever think about revealing your talent thru the traffic on a busy blog? Well, think about it... this is a reminder that "Creatively Yours" has a neat 2-step Guest Designer contest going on! There is still time to enter to be the next guest designer at CY... and even better, they're looking for TWO! This is your chance to show your talent via all the all traffic this fun sketch blog receives!!"

Next we have a stop in at Quebec to visit with Sylvie as she shows us a beautiful Mini-album she made for her parents.

After that we'll travel to Ontario where our first stop will be to visit with Sue at JustCre8 where Sue excitedly tells us about great things happening there. She tells us to be sure to check out their blog and learn about their 2nd annual Revive & Rejuven8 2008 Fall Crop, happening this weekend, October 17th, 18th, and 19th. Be sure to take the time to check it out because you won't want to miss the chance to be a lucky winner of a Making Memories Slice Design Cutter! You can find out more about the crop here on their message board. Also, make sure you check out all the details on the Gr8 Cre8ive Idol Contest that starts October 18th. This is a no elimination contest with a points system. Prizes include $100 in scrapbooking supplies, plus more. You can find details and rules at the special Gr8 Cre8ive Idol Contest board in their forum.

Our next stop, also in Ontario, is to visit with Sylvia as she tells us about the St. Thomas Community Christian School - Fall Fair (and Scrapbooking Fundraiser) scheduled for November 8. Sylvia says, "The Fall Fair was an addition to the crop to bring more family fun to the event. The Fall Fair is running from 9am – 1pm. Featuring bake sale, lunch room, kid’s games and more! There will be fun for everyone at the Fall Fair." Tickets can be purchased in advance at Cut N Paste.

Our last stop in Ontario is with Tara as she asks, "Wanna Win Some Prima Stamps??". She's offering up some great blog candy in this post, and the one before it so be sure to check them out.

Next we're off to Alberta where our first stop will be at Scrapbooker's Club House. They recently featured the inspiring "green" talent of Lee Brehon on their blog in the 19th edition of their Scrappin' Green feature. In this edition Lee shares how to make templates from ice cream tub lids!!

Before we leave Alberta we'll drop in to visit with Chris as she shows us a gorgeous 3x3 note card box and cards she made recently.

After that we're off to British Columbia to visit with Lois as she tells us she had A Busy Time lately creating mini books for the upcoming BC Creative Expo in Vancouver scheduled for November 7&8.

That brings us to the end of this trip across Canada visiting with Scrappers along the way. Thank you to those of you that invited us to visit and thanks to those that came along for the ride.

If all goes well the next edition of the carnival will be posted next Thursday, October 23rd. Please send in your submissions as soon as possible before then.

I didn't get any response from the Blog Awards idea that I posted last week. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. I will only go ahead with the idea if there is interest in it.

Hope everyone has a great scrappy week and makes lots of creations to share with us in the next edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival!

25th Edition!

Welcome to the 25th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival. I am sorry to be so late in posting this today. It has been another crazy week, and an especially crazy day. Once again, unfortunately, I did not get time to go looking for visits to fill out our trip. Thankfully there were people that did submit invitations to visit this week so we still get to go for a trip, we just don't get to visit in every province. Anyway, let's get started!

We'll start this trip in Alberta at Scrapbookers Clubhouse where Ali tells us to be sure to check out their November Guest Design Team Member Contest. To enter the contest you are asked to make an altered item for the Thanksgiving table. The deadline is October 26th so there's time left to check it out and give it a try. Let us know if you do. We'd love to see what you create, whether you are the lucky one chosen or not.

Our next stop is in Quebec to visit with Nathalie as she shows us a layout she made for a crop challenge at Scrapbook Estrie in a post titled Pauvre ti-loup.

After that we're off to New Brunswick where we have a first time invitation from Nicole to visit CompuPro Scrapbooking. This is a great Canadian based scrapping forum, open to everyone. They posted some really great challenges for World Card Making Day and they are featuring these challenges on their blog in the coming days. I was intrigued by the Faux Metal - Heat Embossing challenge as soon as they posted it. The instructions were clear and easy, and the result was amazing. I had to try it, and I loved it! I will definitely be doing it again. Be sure to check it out.

Before we leave New Brunswick we'll stop in and visit with Noella at her Creatively Yours Sketch blog as she tells us about November's CY Guest Designer Contest! she is currently running. Be sure to stop by and check out all the details of this "2-step" contest.

Next we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali as she shares a layout "that combines an "imperfect photo" with a perfect memory" in a post titled Daniel, my sweet boy....

We'll end this trip at my place in Newfoundland and Labrador as I share my World Card Making Day Creations with you and explain how I managed to fulfill 15 challenges in just 9 projects!

And that's the end of this trip. Sorry it's so short but life has been crazy. If you'd like to ensure that we have longer trips make sure you send us an invitation each week to visit with you and encourage your friends to do the same. If you there weren't any visits in your provinces this time around, make sure there is a least one visit there next time by sending us an invitation to visit with you. I might find time next week to drum up extra visits, but I might not too, so the more invitations people send in the better it will be.

Thank you to each of you that did invite us to visit this time. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to send in an invitation this week. Thank you to those of you that came along for the trip. Be sure to take time to thank the hosts by leaving a comment on their blogs.

I'm considering trying to put together some kind of Canadian Scrappers Blog awards program, just for fun. The awards would include banners or buttons for the winners to place on their blogs, as well as prizes that may be donated by businesses and/or individuals that would like to donate. There would be a number of different awards, with probably an award for a favorite blog in each province as well as over all favorite blogs for different categories, such as Best Tutorials, Best Sketches, Most Entertaining, Most Informative, Best Store Blog, Best Challenge blog, etc. People would nominate blogs for the different categories and then a list of the top ones would be made and people would get to vote for the winners. I'd love to hear what you think of the idea. You can either leave a comment or send me an email with your thoughts.

If all goes well the next edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival will be posted next Thursday, October 16th. Please take the time to send us on invitation to visit your blog before then.

Thanks, and happy scrappin'!

24th Edition

Welcome to the 24th edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival. Our trip this week is going to be very, very short. Last Saturday a friend of mine had some devastating news and it's been hard to get on with normal life. If you're interested you can read about it here. I just didn't have it in me to seek out extra visits this week, as my heart and mind were elsewhere, so our trip will consist simply of the three invitations to visit that I did receive. I am thankful for those of you that did send invitations. Without you there would not have been a carnival this week, so thank you for making this edition possible.

In British Columbia Lois invites us to visit as she shares her creations from the BC Crop for Kids.

In Ontario Pam invites us to check out her classes on Organizing Embellishments, Ribbons and Fibres.

In Quebec Sylvie invites us to visit as she shows us some great halloween pages and tells us they are "3 pages pour mon DT".

Once again thank you, girls, for making this edition possible.

If all goes well the next edition will be posted Thursday, October 9. Please send in your submissions before then.

If you are a praying person please lift my friend and her family in your prayers.

22nd Edition!

Welcome to the 22nd edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival!

First of all I want to apologize that we do not have a full and complete trip this week. This has been a crazy week at my house, actually it's been a crazy few weeks, and I just didn't have the time to visit the blogs and put together visits from each and every province. Unfortunately we didn't get any invitations to visit in Newfoundland and Labrador this time around and I've had such a crazy week that I can't even invite you to visit with me this time. Sorry about that. :)

So that brings us to the end of this week's trip. A very big thank you to those of you that sent invitations this week. This week's trip would not have been possible without you.

Thanks to those of you that came along for the trip. Please be sure to take a moment to let the hosts know that you dropped by their blogs for a visit. You never know how much just a couple of words can brighten someone's day.

Once again I apologize that we didn't have stops in every province this time, but I really need your help each and every week to make that possible. Everyone is welcome, and encouraged, to send in a submission for the carnival every week. I'd love to be over run with submissions each week. :)

If all goes well the next edition of the carnival will be posted next Thursday September 25th. Hope to hear from all of you before then!

19 edition!

Welcome to the 19th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival! I am so excited about this edition! It is our first complete cross Canada tour with stops in each of the 10 provinces! Hopefully it's the first of many, if not all, complete tours. I have to say, though, now that we've conquered all 10 provinces I'm starting to think about the three territories and if there may be scrappin' bloggers there. If you know of any, please let me know. Anyway, on to our trip!

Our first stop is in the beautiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador where we'll drop in to visit with Suzy as she shows us a gorgeous card Of Mice and Lace that she made for a House Mouse and Friends Challenge.

Next we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali as she shows us some Cards and a "Scrappy Tip". I'm thinking she's the most organized scrapper I know.

Up next is our long awaited stop in the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island where we'll stop in to visit with Tonya as she shows us some ABC Cards she created for her 3 year old daughter to help her recognize her alphabet. I'm double excited to find Tonya because not only is she in Prince Edward Island but she's a digi scrapper and I've been wanting to find more digi scrappers to highlight.

After that we're off to New Brunswick where we'll stop in at Noella's Creatively Yours, where Ali tells us "Noella is away right now, but we have been regularly enjoying new sketches that she left for us, for the time period during which she was away on vacation! Check out A Tempting Tuesday Treat! to see how much we are enjoying these sketches."

Next we're off to Quebec to visit with Lisanne as she tells us about Dévoilement DT **Ma petite robe rouge** . I just love the layout she shows us!

After that we're off to Ontario for a first time visit with Jackie as she shows us some gorgeous layouts she created for a recent Inspiration Crop.

After that we'll pop in for a visit with Vanessa in Manitoba as she gives us a big {{{grin}}} and shows a really fun layout. It looks like an 8 1/2 x 11 but I'm not sure if it is or not. I love how bright and fun it is.

Next we'll stop in with Connie in Saskatchewan as she shows us a gorgeous card she made for Blogger's Challenge #60 "Birthday Theme".

After that we'll stop in at Scrapbooker's Club House in Alberta to check out Scrappin Green:Tips for Eco-Friendly Memory Keeping ~ 13th Edition, an article called "Shoppin' Green: Croppin' Green!" Ali says, "Folks are welcome to check out the SBCH blog for news, scrappy recycling tips, spotlights, and the latest contests and challenges at the Club house!"

Our last stop is to visit with Lois in British Columbia as she shows us where she scraps and declares this is My Space.

If you are a scrappin' blogger living in Canada and you haven't invited us to visit with you yet, what's stopping you?!? We'd love to drop in for a visit. If you've invited us to visit before and we haven't been back for a while, we'd love to come visit again, just send another invitation.

If all goes well the next edtion of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival will be posted next Thursday, September 4. Please send your invitation to visit in as soon as possible before then, as the earlier I get them the better it is for me in putting it all together. Awards

A nice while ago Heidi was nice enough to give an award to this blog, and this week Lois also gave the blog an award. I was really struggling with what to do with these awards, but I've finally made a decision. I am posting the awards in the side bar of the blog (scroll down to the bottom to see them). This blog would not be what it is without each and every one of you participants so I consider these awards to be yours, not mine, so if you have been a participant in the carnival consider yourself awarded and grab the award to put on your blog. Check the blogs of the girls that awarded them for other details.

18th Edition!

Hi! Welcome to the 18th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival!

Did you catch the slight name change this time? Back in April I started this blog with the title "Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival". I picked the title because it expressed what the blog was to be - a blog carnival for Canadian Scrapbookers. It never clicked with me that there was a magazine with a very similar name and that people could mistakenly come to the conclusion that the two are connected, but that's what happened this past week on a message board I frequent. As soon as I realized it I emailed the owners of the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and we brainstormed what to do about it. We finally agreed that making the slight change in the blog name would help eliminate the confusion, thus the slight change in the blog title. It is no longer "Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival" but it is the "Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival". I often referred to it with that name anyway and when I went to fix my profile on the boards I frequent to reflect the change I discovered that I had already called it the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival in my profiles on the boards. I thought that was pretty funny.

Anyway...on to our weekly cross country trip visiting with scrappers along the way!

We're going to start this trip in Bristish Columbia as we pop in to visit with Melissa, who's been away on holidays but declares "I'm back.." as she shows us a couple of layouts she did. I love the journaling on the "I Pod at 11" layout. Great idea for an annual layout!

Before we leave British Columbia, we'll drop in to EllaBella Designs where we'll learn about their Upcoming Workshops for people in the local area. Unfortunately the first one, the Beach Canvas Bag Mini Album, happened last night so you missed it but there's still time to register for the others. Man, that Beach Canvas Bag Mini Album looks cool!

Next we're off to Alberta for a first time visit at the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine's head office. Katharina tells us "Canadian Scrapbooker magazine is Canada’s first and only scrapbooking magazine dedicated to Canadians! Canadian Scrapbooker Inc. is based in Alberta and has a talented team of designers and contributors from all across Canada. The magazine’s reach goes far beyond one province, as it reflects and reports on current scrapbooking trends from around the world. Canadian Scrapbooker spotlights manufacturers, stores, and scrapbookers from coast to coast. Look to this upbeat quarterly magazine for inspiration, trend-setting techniques and ideas, step-by-step guides for beginner and advanced scrapbookers and card-makers and a showcase of amazing Canadian talent. Take a look inside the Canadian scrapbooking industry through the “Made in Canada” feature. Meet scrapbookers from across Canada featured in “Passport to Creativity.” Enjoy a little giggle as “The Lighter Side” makes light of this amazing hobby. You can count on the Canadian Scrapbooker to provide you with an array of amazing Canadian talent that will kick start your creativity!
NEW this fall, Canadian Scrapbooker is proud to present the first of five volumes of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics (“CSB”), a magazine that will take you on a scrapbooking journey starting right from the beginning. With the same paper weight and binding as their current magazine, Canadian Scrapbooker, it is certain that Canadian Scrapbooker Basics will become a collected and cherished volume set." The latest edition of the magazine is set to arrive in stores September 1st but I've already heard talks about how great it is on the scrapping boards I visit.

While we're in Alberta we'll also drop in on Kali as she tells us it is A Little Quieter this Weekend and she shows us a really neat circle album she made.

Before we leave Alberta we'll pop over to Scrapbooker's Club House Design to check out Scrappin' Green ~ Tips for Eco-Friendly Memory Keeping. Ali tells us "Design Team Member Lynn Marsh has written an excellent article about using items that have been repurposed as scrappy-supplies... WOW: amazing things we learn from one another, eh? **GRIN!**"

After that we'll skip over to Saskatchewan for a first time visit with Leica as she tells us to Beware long post, lot's of pics & layouts and proceeds to show us gorgeous pictures and layout, and also shares some exciting news! Be sure to check it out.

Before we leave Saskatchewan we'll pop in for another first time visit with Corinne as she show us More layouts... that she's completed recently.

Next we're off to Manitoba where our first stop is to visit with Denise as she shows us a gorgeous layout she made for her son to remind him of One Little Phrase. I love the journaling on this layout. Such a great idea to do an end of summer layout like this!

Before we leave Manitoba we'll check out Scrapping out LOUD's Challenge #8 - Playing card challenge. I think it will inspire some great layouts!

Our next stop is in Ontario where we'll check out Creative Crafts and Stickers - Tip Tuesday, a great faux sewing tip from Jackie.

Next we're off to Quebec for a first time visit with Sylvie as she tells us about My visit at "The Scrapping Bug" and shows us a layout she made while there.

Our next stop is in New Brunswick at "Creatively Yours: Sketches by Noella" where Ali tells us "On Tuesday, members of our fabulous Creatively Yours Design Team made the world a happier, more colourful place with creations that will knock your sox off! WOW! Here are 3 layouts from our team, based on Sketch #21 - 12 x 12 created by Noella Arsenault, ENJOY! PS: Noella did a sample layout too! well worth a peek!"

After that we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali at her place where she shows us a layout creation of her son Noah, a Happy Soul, and says "it is doodled with a white Uniball Signo gel pen. (I looooove to doodle!). I also included 3 Scrappy Tips in this blog post & there are several others in the posts prior to this one. Enjoy! [Thanks for popping by, I am serving King Cole tea and homemade gingersnaps this afternoon! Want the recipe? LOL]"

Unfortunately we still don't have any places to visit in Prince Edward Island but I am hopeful that we may in the near future. We really hate skipping over this beautiful province so if you're from there you need to make sure that stops. :)

Our last stop is in Newfoundland and Labrador where we'll check out the Sisterhood of Scrap Challenge Monday - August 18. The deadline is not until August 24 so there's still time to participate.

And that's the end of this trip across Canada visiting with Scrappers along the way. Thank you to those of you that allowed us to visit. If you want us to drop by and visit with you, be sure to check out the submission guidelines in the sidebar and send an email to the carnival address. We'd love to have more scrappers to visit.

If all goes well the next edition of the carnival will be posted August 28, 2008. Hope to hear from all of you before then.

17th Edition!

Welcome to the 17th edition of the Canadian Scrapper's Blog Carnival. Submissions were slow coming in, and there weren't a lot, but I did manage to put together a pretty full trip just the same.

Our first stop is to visit with Izzy in British Columbia as she shows us "My Designs and..." she also tells some exciting news.

Before we leave British Columbia we'll pop in for a visit with Lois as she shares a beautiful heritage mini album she made as a Tribute to Nana.

After that we'll move into New Brunswick where we'll pop in on Kristine as she excitedly tells us that the Store is Set up!

Before leaving New Brunswick we'll check in with Noella at Creatively Yours, where - Ali, her PR person, says "Just had to share the latest of an incredible series of sketches for layouts by Noella. Here's Sketch # 19 - 12" x 12", a 12x12" sketch guaranteed to help get the creative ideas flowing. Have fun interpreting it and remember to leave a comment on the blog with a link to your layout. We'd love to see it!"

Next we're off to Nova Scotia to visit with Ali as she shows us a fun layout which showcases some of her son's artwork and explains the meaning of "Besaur" in the journaling.

Unfortunately we still don't have any invitations to visit in Prince Edward Island. I'm sure there are scrappin' bloggin' people there, I just wish we could find them!

Our last stop is in Newfoundland and Labrador where we'll visit with Deanne as she shares a great tutorial on Making Butterflies using Flowers!

And that brings us to the end of this trip across the country visiting with scrappers along the way. I hope you enjoyed the trip. Welcome to the 16th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival. I am so excited about this trip, because it is a fairly full one! Let's get started.

We'll start this trip in British Columbia by popping in to visit with Lois as she shows us an example of What To Do With a Paint Tin.

Before we leave British Columbia we'll pop in for a first time visit at Clipper Street Scrapbook Company, where we discover that they have stores in Coquitlam. Langley, and Richmond, as well as an online shop and community. This week they posted on their blog about their Ali-cadabra Contest, which offers participants a chance to win a signed copy of Ali Edward's New Book - Sharing Your Story! Also, while we're visiting Cory invites us to check out the YouTube ClipperStreet Online - Thinking of You Card which shows how to make a simple, but beautiful card.

Next we're off to the province of Alberta where our first stop is to visit with Kali as she says, "Happy Birthday Neal!", and then she shows us some really neat wall words she made for her bathroom with her cricut and also a chore chart she made with Cosmo Criket papers.

Before we leave Alberta we'll pop into Scrapbooker's Club House where they invite us all to "Join us for the SBCH "Olymipcations Event!". This sounds like a fun two weeks of challenges starting Friday August 8th.

Next we're off to Saskatchewan to visit with Sheryl as she shows us a gift bag she made as part of Stephanie's Lovebug Class.

All of our kits are PRE-CUT and the design is taken care of. All you need to do is follow the careful directions and you will have a page completed In A Pinch! We have scrapbooking kits and altered items kits. We also offer services to retailers and these kits are perfect for teaching a class. Your cutting is completed for you and all that you will need to do is slot that class time into your schedule. We look forward to hearing from you. We are thrilled to bring you In A Pinch Designs with the hope to provide inspiration through design, technique and colour."

After that we're off to Quebec where Nathalie shares a layout she made as part of a scraplift chain.

Our next stop is in New Brunswick at Creative Scrappers where they introduce their guest designers and show us Sketch #11, which you have until August 10th to use to be a part of Scrappy Donna's Sketch Contest.

Before we leave New Brunswick we'll stop by Creatively Yours: Sketches by Noella to check out Sketch #17 - 12" x 12", as the new PR person, Ali, says "Here are the first interpretations of sketches created by Noella & sent out to her Design Team this week! Please feel free to share your interpretations of the sketches by posting a link to your creation(s) in the "Comments" section of the blog. We'd LOVE to see them! Enjoy and thanks for coming by to visit, please come back often."

Then we're off to Nova Scotia where we'll visit with Ali as she shows us her New Creations and explains, "On the layout of our pony, Oakley, I have used an applique of a design I trimmed from a vintage blouse as a scrappy embellie. The card below it was made for a friend we were going to visit, when I realized that it was her birthday!! I whipped this card up very quickly and she LOVED it. Made my day. The gemstone butterflies came from Dollarama! So pretty and yet inexpensive. Enjoy, and come again to enjoy Nova Scotia's hospitality and a cup of King Cole tea with me anytime!"

After that we're off to Newfoundland and Labrador for a first time visit with Suzy as she shares great tips for Taking Great Photos of Your Work: A Photography Tutor.

Our last stop for this trip is to check out Happy Scrappers, "The Only Newfoundland Online Scrapbooking Store". This is a brand new venture and I'm excited to watch it grow.

And that brings us to the end of this edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival. Don't forget to take the time to leave a comment and let the different hosts know that you enjoyed the visit to their place.

I think it was so much fun to have visits in all but one of the provinces this time, and I'm hoping it will be that way from now on. Well, I hope we also get visits to Prince Edward Island soon so that we can stop in each province. :)

If you participated in the carnival in the past you should have received an email from me this week. In an attempt to ensure that each edition has as many visits as possible, I have asked permission of past participants to visit their place whenever we like, without waiting for an invitation. It is still my preference to have people send me invitations to visit each week, because that way I don't have to go looking for them, but in the event that I don't have as many invitations as I would like for an edition I would like to have this as a back-up plan. I have received permission from many, but I'm still waiting to hear from others. If you are a past participant and you didn't receive an email from me, please let me know your thoughts on it.

If you haven't yet participated in the carnival, we would love to add you to our list of places to visit. Simply send an email to the carnival address - canadianscrapbookerscarnival@gmail.com
- inviting us for a first visit and you will then be added to the list. Be sure to include your blog address and the province you reside in.

One other thing, as I mentioned a while ago, for now I have decided to handle the English/French translations issue by placing the language conversion button in the side bar of this blog. I would like to suggest that each of you consider doing the same. I have noticed that some of you have done so and I thank you for that. It is a small way that we can help bring Canadian scrappers together.

If all goes well the next edition of the Carnival will be posted August 14. Be sure to send in your submissions before that time. If you haven't invited us to visit yet, we sure would love to have an invitation, and if you have invited us before, we'd love to come visit again.

Hope to hear from a bunch of you soon!

Cruisin' with Scrapbook & Cards Today Contest

Check out the Scrapbook and Cards Today blinkie in the side bar. Go pick one up for yourself on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog and read all about the contest they have going on for the month of August. If it should so happen that the blinkie on this blog brings in a prize, I will have a draw amongst bloggers that have participated in the carnival and send the prize to the lucky winner of the draw. :)

Seem to be having trouble

It appears that there is some trouble with blogger. Suddenly sites with sitemeter on them can not be viewed in internet explorer. To alleviate the problem I have removed sitemeter from the blog, at least for the present time.

Welcome to the 14th Edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival! We have invitations to visit in five of our provinces this time around. Let's get started!

Starting on the west cost we'll stop in for a visit with Lois in British Columbia as she shows us a beautiful layout she made to honor her mother. The journaling on this is amazing as she tell her mother "I've Been Thinking About You". She also shares a Fridge Magnet Mini project from Dragonfly Scrapbooking.

Next we'll pop in to visit Chris in Alberta as she explains how she made a gorgeous card for her niece to congratulate her on her New Home (I'm so proud of this card!)

While still in Alberta we'll drop by for a visit at Scrapbookers Clubhouse as Ali says, "Hi Everyone!! Here is a wonderful idea from designer Elisha Drewery who is a talented scrapbooker at Scrapbooker's Club House, a very active Forum and scrapbooking store. In Scrappin' Green: Tips for Eco Friendly Memory Keeping - 8th Edition, Elisha shows us how we can repurpose Ribbon Spoolies in order to create something beautiful."

Skipping over the next three provinces, as we didn't get any invitations to visit in them this trip, our next stop is in Quebec.

We'll pop in for a first time visit with Nathalie in Quebec as she shows us Une petite vite faite, a gorgeous layout, using lots of strips of paper, that show how much her little one enjoys the tub.

As we didn't get any invitations to visit in the next two provinces we'll skip right by them to get to our next stop which is in Nova Scotia.

In Nova Scotia we'll drop in to Ali's place as she says "We Made It! I created this LO because our story needed to be shared, if only to make others aware of what the parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder [ASD] endure trying to access critically necessary therapy and help for their children. This is part of our story as parents to Noah, a child with ASD, who is now 6 years old. In view of what's been in the news this week, this is probably a timely post. Please absorb and "enjoy" what I've written, and feel free to comment. I welcome your thoughts. Thanks so much for popping by, I LOVE visitors!!"

We'll finish this trip at my house in Newfoundland while I tell you about the Scrappin' Fun! I've been having lately and that I'm planning to have this weekend.

And that brings us to the end of this week's trip across our country as we visited with scrappers along the way. Thank you to those of you that took the time to invite us to visit. Hope to hear from many of you soon!

Welcome to the 13th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival! Sorry I'm so late in posting. French/English Translation

As you've probably noticed, the last couple of posts on the blog have included both french and english versions of the text. As this is a Canadian blog and the country of Canada has two official languages, french and english, I think it is important that both languages be included on the blog, or that people be able to easily access the blog in both of these languages somehow.

There are a few different ways that this can be accomplished:

1. One option is like what was done in the first bilingual posting - the 11th edition - the translation was given paragraph by paragraph.

2. A second option is like what was done in the second bilingual posting - the call for the 12th edition - the whole post was posted in both languages, one an top of the other.

3. A third option is to simply but a button on the blog - a sample can be seen on my personal scrapping blog - that allows people to choose what language they want to read the blog in and just continue posting in one language.

Please let me know your thoughts on this by participating in the poll in the sidebar and/or by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post.

Thank-you for your help.

11th Edition!

Welcome to the 11th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival!

Soyez bienvenus à la 10ème édition du Carnaval de Blog de Canadien Scrapbookers!

I am so excited about this edition because we finally have an invitation to visit with a scrapbooking blogger in Quebec! The invitation comes from someone who is much more comfortable with the French language than the English so to make her feel more welcome I am attempting to add some French to this edition.

I don't know about most of you, but even though we live in a country with two official languages, much to my shame I am only fluent in one of those languages. At the suggestion of my new french friend, I am using the online translation tool Promt to translate what I write into french. This is far from a perfect tool so I am sure to make some terrible mistakes in my attempts to include some French in this post. I apologize to, and ask the forgiveness of, my french readers right away. I hope to improve on the presentation over time and with much help. I will talk more about that later.

If you are interested in checking out a featured website that is not in the language you are most comfortable in, you can use the website translator tool at Promt to translate the site into the language you want. Just copy and paste the website address into the translator and be sure to set the translator from whatever language the site is written in to whatever language you would like to be able to read it in before hitting the translate button. Remember, it's far from a perfect tool but it can still be helpful.
