Welcome to the 16th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival. I am so excited about this trip, because it is a fairly full one! Let's get started.
We'll start this trip in British Columbia by popping in to visit with Lois as she shows us an example of What To Do With a Paint Tin.
Before we leave British Columbia we'll pop in for a first time visit at Clipper Street Scrapbook Company, where we discover that they have stores in Coquitlam. Langley, and Richmond, as well as an online shop and community. This week they posted on their blog about their Ali-cadabra Contest, which offers participants a chance to win a signed copy of Ali Edward's New Book - Sharing Your Story! Also, while we're visiting Cory invites us to check out the YouTube ClipperStreet Online - Thinking of You Card which shows how to make a simple, but beautiful card.
Next we're off to the province of Alberta where our first stop is to visit with Kali as she says, "Happy Birthday Neal!", and then she shows us some really neat wall words she made for her bathroom with her cricut and also a chore chart she made with Cosmo Criket papers.
Before we leave Alberta we'll pop into Scrapbooker's Club House where they invite us all to "Join us for the SBCH "Olymipcations Event!". This sounds like a fun two weeks of challenges starting Friday August 8th.
Next we're off to Saskatchewan to visit with Sheryl as she shows us a gift bag she made as part of Stephanie's Lovebug Class.
After that we head over to Manitoba where Scrapping Out LOUD is celebrating their one month birthday and they have posted Challenge #6 - Button Up, Baby!
Our next stop is in Ontario where we have a first time visit with Renee as she shares ideas and samples for Scrapbooking your (ABC) family heirlooms.
Before we leave Ontario we'll stop for a first time visit with Sheri and Judy at In a Pinch Designs as they say, "We would like to introduce you to In A Pinch Designs - a kit company with a twist. All of our kits are PRE-CUT and the design is taken care of. All you need to do is follow the careful directions and you will have a page completed In A Pinch! We have scrapbooking kits and altered items kits. We also offer services to retailers and these kits are perfect for teaching a class. Your cutting is completed for you and all that you will need to do is slot that class time into your schedule. We look forward to hearing from you. We are thrilled to bring you In A Pinch Designs with the hope to provide inspiration through design, technique and colour."
After that we're off to Quebec where Nathalie shares a layout she made as part of a scraplift chain.
Our next stop is in New Brunswick at Creative Scrappers where they introduce their guest designers and show us Sketch #11, which you have until August 10th to use to be a part of Scrappy Donna's Sketch Contest.
Before we leave New Brunswick we'll stop by Creatively Yours: Sketches by Noella to check out Sketch #17 - 12" x 12", as the new PR person, Ali, says "Here are the first interpretations of sketches created by Noella & sent out to her Design Team this week! Please feel free to share your interpretations of the sketches by posting a link to your creation(s) in the "Comments" section of the blog. We'd LOVE to see them! Enjoy and thanks for coming by to visit, please come back often."
Then we're off to Nova Scotia where we'll visit with Ali as she shows us her New Creations and explains, "On the layout of our pony, Oakley, I have used an applique of a design I trimmed from a vintage blouse as a scrappy embellie. The card below it was made for a friend we were going to visit, when I realized that it was her birthday!! I whipped this card up very quickly and she LOVED it. Made my day. The gemstone butterflies came from Dollarama! So pretty and yet inexpensive. Enjoy, and come again to enjoy Nova Scotia's hospitality and a cup of King Cole tea with me anytime!"
After that we're off to Newfoundland and Labrador for a first time visit with Suzy as she shares great tips for Taking Great Photos of Your Work: A Photography Tutor.
Our last stop for this trip is to check out Happy Scrappers, "The Only Newfoundland Online Scrapbooking Store". This is a brand new venture and I'm excited to watch it grow.
And that brings us to the end of this edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival. Don't forget to take the time to leave a comment and let the different hosts know that you enjoyed the visit to their place.
I think it was so much fun to have visits in all but one of the provinces this time, and I'm hoping it will be that way from now on. Well, I hope we also get visits to Prince Edward Island soon so that we can stop in each province. :)
If you participated in the carnival in the past you should have received an email from me this week. In an attempt to ensure that each edition has as many visits as possible, I have asked permission of past participants to visit their place whenever we like, without waiting for an invitation. It is still my preference to have people send me invitations to visit each week, because that way I don't have to go looking for them, but in the event that I don't have as many invitations as I would like for an edition I would like to have this as a back-up plan. I have received permission from many, but I'm still waiting to hear from others. If you are a past participant and you didn't receive an email from me, please let me know your thoughts on it.
If you haven't yet participated in the carnival, we would love to add you to our list of places to visit. Simply send an email to the carnival address - canadianscrapbookerscarnival@gmail.com
- inviting us for a first visit and you will then be added to the list. Be sure to include your blog address and the province you reside in.
One other thing, as I mentioned a while ago, for now I have decided to handle the English/French translations issue by placing the language conversion button in the side bar of this blog. I would like to suggest that each of you consider doing the same. I have noticed that some of you have done so and I thank you for that. It is a small way that we can help bring Canadian scrappers together.
If all goes well the next edition of the Carnival will be posted August 14. Be sure to send in your submissions before that time. If you haven't invited us to visit yet, we sure would love to have an invitation, and if you have invited us before, we'd love to come visit again.
Hope to hear from a bunch of you soon!
