Welcome to the 8th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival!
We'll start this trip in Newfoundland where we will visit with Deanne as she shows us how she used distressing ink and bubble wrap to make Bubbles!!!.
Next we're off to Nova Scotia where we will visit with two newcomers to the carnival!
First we'll stop in and visit Ali as she shares some tips for Designing with Buttons and shows us a number of her layouts and projects using buttons. Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a RAK she's offering.
Next we'll drop in on Ret as she shares with us a beautiful 7 layer card in Carte Postale in Whisper White.
No invitations to visit in New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island this time around so we skip over those provinces.
Our next stop is in Ontario where we'll drop in on Jennifer as she reminds us not to forget our dads, even if we can't be with them, This coming weekend... and shares a great layout she made in honor of her dad.
Hopping over to Manitoba we'll visit with Denise while she shows as a neat Daddy & Me layout she created for a challenge that included the requirement to use chipboard, and she went wild with chipboard.
Next up we'll stop and visit with Sheryl in Saskatchewan as she shows us the Coolest technique she learned at Lovebug Scrapbooking. Very cool effect!
Our next two stops are in Alberta where we've been invited for a return visit and we also have a first time invitation to visit a business.
First we'll drop in on Chris as she shows us her Faux Suede Father's Day card and explains how to make to the faux suede. In her email invitation she says "The picture never does this technique justice, you have to FEEL the suede..it is amazingly real!!"
Up next is a visit at Scrapbooker's Club House. Owner Nicole lives in AB while Design Team Coordinator Noella lives in New Brunswick, and PR and Promotions Director Ali in NS, so they are spread out all across the country! Ali exclaims "We are THRILLED you will be able to come this way. WELCOME!" She encourages everyone to check out the Scrappin' Green Blog Feature, where DT and members of the forum share ideas that make a difference to our Earth. "Being involved in a largely paper-based art-form means that we MUST be environmentally conscious and responsible." Ali says "Note the RAK draw taking place the 14th. Folks will receive a ballot for the draw every time they send in a "green" tip!!!! Who has a green tip for us?? C'mon!!!!! ". She also points out the July Guest Design Team Member contest and says "We'd love to see lots of entries! ". Another thing to watch for on their blog is the weekly Technique Tidbit Thursday article about which Ali says "I guarantee it'll be worthwhile reading and learning from." They also have a Sketch Contest which is going on right now. Ali points out that "Winners each receive a prize and are privileged to design a future layout or card sample for the SBCH blog using one of Noella Arsenault's sketches!" Ali encourages everyone to "pop by the Club House where the friendliness and creativity are SECOND to NONE!"
After that excitment we're off to British Columbia for our last two visits.
First we'll stop in for a first time visit with Lois as she tells us that she's been busy Making Mini Albums since she got her Bind-it-All and she gives us a glimpse of some of the albums she's made.
Our last visit is with Melissa as she shows us a layout she created for a challenge for a DT call and in the journaling she shares that she plays the role of a super hero, Mom, Everyday.
And that's the end of this week's trip across our country as we visited with scrappers along the way. I apologize for being so late in the day in getting it posted. It's been a rather crazy day.
Thank you to each of you for the invitations to visit. I hope you will invite us again. Thanks also to each of you that came along for the trip. Make sure you take a moment to let our hosts know that you appreciated the invitation to visit with them by leaving a comment on their blogs.
Please continue to help spread the word about the carnival. Add a carnival widget or blinkie to your blog. Post about the carnival in your scrapbooking forums and email groups. Tell all your friends.
If all goes well, I will be posting the call for the next edition tomorrow so be sure to check back, and get your submissions in as soon as you can so that you don't forget! :)
Happy scrappin'!
