If all goes well the next edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog carnival will be posted Thursday, June 5th. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, June 4th.
If you need inspiration for what to write about, why not write a post about a new-to-you technique, product, or tool. There are lots of different ones out there. Maybe you had the chance to try something recently that you never tried before. Tell us about it. If you haven't tried anything new, how about telling about your favorite?
As always, this topic is merely a suggestion, not a restriction.
You may have noticed a new black button in the sidebar of this page. It's a blidget promo badge saying you can get my blog as a widget. This is a new feature I discovered while blog hopping this week and I thought it was really neat.
I have placed the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival blog as a widget on my scrappin' blog. You can check out my blog to see what it's like. Basically it's a widget in the side bar of my blog that shows the headings of the different posts on the blog. Clicking on the widget will bring you to the carinval blog. It's a great way to promote the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival.
If you click on the black promo button in the side bar on this page you are taken to a page where you can get the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival Blog as a widget to put on your blog. You can even change the color of it to better suit your blog. Check it out and see what you think. Leave a comment letting me know if you add it to your blog so that I can check it out.
Back to the call! :)
I didn't have to go begging for any submissions again last week and it was so nice. Unfortunately it meant we didn't have invitations to visit at as many provinces, but it was nice to have a break from having to go beg for submissions. :) Hope the same happens this week, but that we get invitations to visit in more of the provinces. Don't wait for me to come to you, because I might not get around to it. Send in your submissions as soon as possible so that you don't forget about it.
I look forward to reading the submissions. Be sure to read the submission guidelines in the sidebar. Continue to help spread the word.
Happy scrapping!

6th Edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival
Welcome to the 6th edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival! Even though we only got invitations to visit scrappers in 4 provinces this time, we have a very busy trip with lots of great visits planned, including visits with 4 new bloggers and 2 businesses to check out.
Let's start in British Columbia, where we have invitations to visit with two newcomers to the carnival and one repeat invitation.
First of all we'll check in with Izzy, one of the newcomers, as she shows us a couple of layouts plus an acrylic album made in memory of someone special in their life. I especially love the design of the first layout.
Next we'll stop at and visit another new comer, Wendy, as she shows us some wonderful digital templates and kits she created and suggests that "ScrapbookMax!" is the perfect program for anyone wanting to dabble with digital.
Off we go now to visit with Melissa as she shows us Where it happens.... Her scrappin' space includes an old computer desk and baskets.
Next we're off to Alberta to visit with newcomer, Jayme, as she tells us about A Little Goodness in the Mail that she received recently in the form of the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, and she boasts about the fact that it is "Canadian through and through". Gotta love that!
While we're here, Jayme invites us to drop by and check out Scrapbooking Fanatics an online store and community that Jayme owns. She invites you all to "Join us at Scrapbooking Fanatics, where inspiration is everywhere! You'll find a store stocked with the latest and greatest scrappy items with a management that welcomes special requests. Every month a new limited edition kit is released that always has hot new products and Canadian content! The forum features lots of tips, inspiration and a chance to chat with others who share your passion for scrapbooking. Join us for our weekend crops that have lots of challenges, chit-chat and prizes every two weeks. The design team is the best, and members are offered a chance to participate as guest designers. And of course, the gallery is filled with amazing scrapbook art. We'll see you there!"
Next we're off to Manitoba where we'll stop in a visit with Cindy again as she shares with us about a recent surfin' saturday when she found a blog full of organizational ideas. She also shares lots of pictures of her newly organized Scrap space.
While we're here, Cindy invites us to check out her business, A Unique Flair - Scrapbooking Services and Classes, where she teaches classes in her studio space and creates custom scrapbooks and "eventful" frames for clients. She says "My Blog: Say it with Flair, is my interactive space on the web for me & my clients. I post my monthly newsletters, challenges, weekday thoughts, & constant inspiration for scrapbooking & other crafts."
Next we're off to Ontario where we have two repeat invitations to visit, a new invitation and an invitation to check out a business.
This is our first invitation to visit with Brenda as she shares with us some Album Ideas and offers great suggestions on creating a cookbook that would become a wonderful keepsake of family traditions.
Next we'll drop in on Deanna while she exclaims Vicki Boutin Rocks and proceeds to tell us about a class she took recently with Vicki Boutin at Scrapping Turtle.
Next up Jen invited us to drop in at Creative Crafts and Stickers and check out Ally's Tutorial Thursday ~ Make Your Own Patterned Paper. This is so cool! Ally even shows us a card she made with paper she made. Check it out!
And last but not least, Katrina, a newcomer to the carnival, invites us to checkout out Skribblz Art as she tells us "I am the owner of Skribblz Art, a Canadian company that is new to the Scrapbooking industry. My company creates self-adhesive interior typography featuring custom-designed quotes and interior accents. Last year, I branched into scrapbooking because of my passion for this craft! I create innovative titIes and graphics and now have 3 collections and am working on a fouth. I retail across Canada, but my online store is coming soon! I have been featured both in Canadian Scrapbooker and on ScrapTime." Make sure you check it out!
And that ends the 6th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival. Thank you to each of you for the invitations to visit. I hope you will invite us again. Thanks also to each of you that came along for the trip. Make sure you take a moment to let our hosts know that you appreciated the invitation to visit with them by leaving a comment on their blogs.
While I was disappointed that we only got invitations to visit in 4 of the provinces this time around, I was delighted with the number of invitations. If your province wasn't represented in this edition I challenge you to make sure that doesn't happen for the next edition - send in your submissions!
I will be posting the call for the next edition tomorrow so be sure to check back, and get your submissions in as soon as you can so that you don't forget! :)

Calling all Canadian Based Scrapbooking/Cardmaking/Stamping Related Stores, Boards, and Communities
To help raise awareness of Canadian based resources, there is now a new side bar feature specifically for Canadian based scrap related stores, boards, and communities that have an internet presence. This feature is like the sidebar feature listing personal bloggers. The sites are listed under the province where they are based.
In the past when a few of these sites submitted blog posts for carnivals they were included in the original bloggers side bar feature, but these are now moved to this new side bar feature. The original sidebar feature will be specifically for personal blogs.
If you have an internet site for your Canadian based scrapbooking/cardmaking/stamping related store, board, or community, you are invited to submit your site to be included in the listing, whether you have a blog or not. Simply send an email to canadianscrapbookerscarnival@gmail.com . Be sure to include in the email the name you'd like in the side bar, the address to the site you'd like linked, and a short paragraph of information about your site. This paragraph must include what province the site is based in. Once your site is featured in an edition of the Carnival it will be added to the sidebar feature.
If you have a blog you are welcome to submit blog posts to any edition of the carnival. This is a great way to get word out about any news happening - such as new kits, contests, events, etc. - in your store, board, or community.
If you do not have a blog, encourage your members/customers that do have blogs to post about happenings and to submit their posts to the carnival.
Please help spread the word about this new feature to any Canadian based scrapbooking, cardmaking, stamping related stores, boards, or communities you know about.

Call for submission for 6th edition due May 28
If all goes well the next edition of the carnival will be posted May 29th. The deadline for submissions is May 28.
If you need inspiration for what to write about, why not write a post about where you scrap? I got the idea from this past week's Text Thursday at Sisterhood of Scrap and they assured me they wouldn't mind if I used it. It would be interesting to hear about, and see pictures of, different people's scrapping spaces.
As always, this topic is merely a suggestion, not a restriction.
I don't know if any of you noticed, but I've created a new graphic for the Carnival. I really didn't like the big old button that I first made so I've been anxious to change it. I finally got it all worked out yesterday. I'm still not totally happy with it as I think it almost looks "Christmasy". What do you think? I'd really love to have some scrapping graphics to use for it but I haven't been able to find any free ones to use yet. If you had already added the button to your blog you don't need to worry about changing it because I worked it so that it automatically changed to the new one wherever the old one was posted. I'd love to know what you think of it.
Back to the call! :)
I didn't have to go begging for any submissions last week and it was so nice. Hope the same happens this week. Don't wait for me to come to you, because I might not get around to it. Send in your submissions.
I look forward to reading the submissions. Be sure to read the submission guidelines in the sidebar. Continue to help spread the word.
Happy scrapping!

5th Edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival
Welcome! Let's begin our trip around the country, stopping in to visit with Scrappers along the way.
We're going to start this trip in British Columbia as we stop in to visit with Melissa. She recently realized that scrapbooking objects was okay, and even a great way to pass on a bit of family history. She shares a great layout she did of This Car... .
Next we're off to Alberta to visit with Chris as she shows us her Scene Cards - a couple of gorgeous cards featuring oh so cute stamps by High Hopes Rubber Stamps, a Canadian Stamp Company that I'd never heard of before. Here's what Chris had to say in her email "It features cards from my favourite Canadian stamp company "High Hopes Rubber Stamps". The owner, Tina Marie, is fabulous and so very kind!! Truly depicts what most Canadians are like!!!"
Up next is Sheryl in Saskatchewan and she's having fun Playing with Basic Grey Sugared Line and cutting up pictures for her layouts. Looks really neat!
Crossing the border in Manitoba we have a first invitation to visit with Denise. She says she's a newbie to both scrapping and blogging but as you'll see she's doing a great job with both. She shows us her daughter's Monday Curls in a layout she redid 3 times. I don't know what the other 3 times looked like but I really like the final product.
Next up we stop in on Jennifer in Ontario as she exclaims "Man I think I am in Love as she sings the praises of her favorite Canadian Kit Club, Justcre8, who's latest kit included product from Canadian Company SkribblzArt. Some great Canadian companies there!
After a long trip over some provinces where we didn't have invitations to visit this time, our last stop is with Deanne in Newfoundland as she shares her Sketches for May 15, a layout sketch and a card sketch she created, and offers a chance for a RAK if you give them a try. Her DT did a great job with the sketches! She's also offering a RAK for the person who guesses the date she reaches her 2008 scrapping goal. She's already about 3/4 of the way there and the year isn't even half over!
Thanks to all of you for the invitations to visit with you, and thanks for all of you that came along for the trip. It sure would be encouraging if you took a moment to leave a comment and tell us what you thought of the trip, and if you took the time to leave a comment at each of the places we were invited to.
Thanks to those of you that are promoting the blog. Please continue to do so.
Tomorrow I will be posting a call for the next edition which will be posted May 29.

Call for submissions for 5th Edition
The 5th edition of the Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival will be posted May 22, with the deadline for submissions being May 21.
I hope you are enjoying the visits with Scrappers across our country as much as I am. I really look forward to checking out the submissions each week and I appreciate those of you that are helping spread the word about the carnival. I try to include at least one visit from each province in each edition if I can, and that sometimes means I have to go searching and begging for submissions, as some of you know. I sure would love it if I didn't have to do that, so I encourage you all to try to remember to submit a post each week, and encourage your friends to do so too.
There still are many, many Canadian bloggers out there that haven't joined our carnival yet and to try to encourage more to join and to help spread the word about the carnival, I have a suggestion for a topic for submissions this week. Why not write a post about your favorite Canadian scrapping blogs, LSS, and Canadian online boards? As always, this topic is merely a suggestion, not a restriction.
I look forward to reading the submissions. Be sure to read the submission guidelines in the sidebar. Continue to help spread the word.

4th Edition of Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival
Welcome to the 4th edition of the Carnival. Are you all ready for the trip across the country as we stop in and visit with scrapper's along the way? Here we go...
Our first stop is to visit Deanne in Newfoundland as she shares instructions on a Card/Bookmark for you to make. This is an old post from her blog, but it might be new to you.
We didn't get any invitations to visit with scrappers in Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, or Prince Edward Island this time around. If you know of any scrappers in any of these provinces, why not encourage them to join the carnival.
Our next stop is in Ontario where we have been invited to visit with three scrappers.
Heidi tells us about Some Blog Candy to be drawn for May 18. It includes some of her handmade felt flowers and embossed foam that she told us about in another edition of the carnival. Check out her post to see what you have to do to have a chance at winning.
Next we visit with Carla as she tells us about kards for kids, a contest going on right now at Lil' Scrappers. Check out Carla's post to learn more about it.
This is our first invitation to visit with Deanna and she shares a simple, but beautiful Mother's Day card she created using CPS#63.
Next we're off to Manitoba to visit with Cindy as she shares with us the good & bad - news that is. She also shows a layout she made for a recipe challenge she has posted on her blog. You have until the 15 to meet the challenge so be sure to check it out.
Hopping over to the next province, Saskatchewan, we stop in to visit with Sheryl as she shows us a beautiful Mother's Day Card that she made.
Moving on into Alberta, this is our first invitation to visit with Chris and she shares a Cutie Patootie Card she created for her Mom for Mother's Day.
Our last stop is a visit with Melissa in British Columbia as she shows us that her premmie baby was So Tiny you can hardly pick him out from the Anne Geddes dolls that he is posed with in the picture on the beautiful layout she created.
And that brings our trip to an end. Thanks to each of you for allowing us to visit with you and thanks to each of you that have joined us for the trip. Please take the time to leave comments letting us know that you have visited.
I will be posting a call for the next edition tomorrow so be watching for it, and please help spread the word.

3rd Edition!
Welcome to the third edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival! On this trip we will travel from coast to coast, stopping in to visit scrappers along the way.
Starting on the Pacific Ocean side of the country we will visit first with Melissa in British Columbia. Melissa is a new blogger and this is our first visit. Drop by and check out some of her scrapping creations and leave her some encouraging words.
Next we travel to visit with Tania in Alberta. She learned some new techniques and had a pretty productive NSD.
Our next stop is Saskatchewan where we have two bloggers to visit. Connie shares a beautiful layout of a boy and his dog, and also shares a tip for tying layouts together while Sheryl shows off some of her creations from NSD.
Next we're off to visit Vanessa in Manitoba as she shows off some of her beautiful creations from NSD.
This is our first visit with Cindy in Manitoba as she shares pictures from classes she gave at a Charity Convention during NSD.
Unfortunately we didn't get any invitations to visit with scrappers in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, or PEI this time around.
Our next stop is with another first timer. Carol in Nova Scotia shows us some cards that she will be teaching others in her area to make in her upcoming Card Classes.
And our last visit for this trip is with Deanne in Newfoundland as she shows us four of the layouts she completed on NSD.
I know there were many more people that participated in fun events all across our nation during National Scrapbooking Day. Maybe some of you have been too busy recovering from the fun and haven't had a chance to post about it yet. :) If anyone does do a post about it this week you can always send it in for the next edition.
Speaking of the next edition, in light of the fact that everyone is probably busy putting the finishing touches on things for Mother's Day, why not show them off in the next edition of the Carnival? Or share some of your favorite layouts or projects you've done in the past that features your mother, or even yourself in the role of mother.
Don't worry if you don't have anything that fits the suggestions above. They are merely suggestions to get people thinking about what they can post. You are not limited to only submitting posts along those lines.
The next edition will be posted May 15. Deadline for submissions will be May 14. Please be sure to read the guidelines for submissions in the side bar.
Happy scrapping, and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers.

2nd Edition of The Canadian Scrapbookers Blog Carnival!
Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival. In this special edition we will be checking in with some scrappers across our country to see how they will be spending National Scrapping Day. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of places to visit this time around. Maybe everyone was too busy getting ready to celebrate so they didn't have time to blog. :)
We'll start this trip by visiting with Connie in Saskatchewan. This is the first time she's invited us for a visit. Though she's not actually going to be scrapping she is planning on spending the day taking pictures of her husband working the land so that she can scrap them later.
This is also our first invitation to visit with Vanessa in Manitoba. She's planning on getting together with friends and she's also helping run on online crop on a Canadian Forum. Check it out!
In Ontario, Jennifer is attending something called Destination Create with a bunch of her friends. I can't wait to hear all about it.
Carla, in Ontario, also invited us for a first time visit. She's helping run a week long NSD Celebration, that started April 30 and goes until May 6th, on an online Canadian Forum, with RAKs for every challenge! Sounds like fun!
In Newfoundland, Deanne, along with her sister and a friend, have planned on all-day scrapping party in a local church.
I'm also in Newfoundland (Jacqueline) and I was really hoping to get to go to Deanne's celebrations but instead I'm going to have to see what I can come up with on my own, and I'm dreaming of what I could do if I had a good laptop for checking out celebrations I've discovered in cyber land.
That's the end of our scrappy visits for this edition. I know a lot of other scrappers have plans to celebrate all across our nation. If any of you meant to send in a post and forgot, send it to me tomorrow and I will still add it at the end of this post.
The next edition of the Carnival will be posted on May 8th, with the deadline for submissions being May 7th. I sure hope that more of you will join us in the next edition to tell us about what you actually did for National Scrapbooking Day and also to share with us your creations from the day. Write a post on your blog all about it and then send a link to that post to canadianscrapbookerscarnival@gmail.com so that scrappers from across the country can visit with you and see what you've been up to. Be sure to take a minute to check out the submissions guidelines in the side bar.
Thank-you to all of you that have been helping spread the word about the Carnival. Keep up the good work and don't forget to send in your submissions to the next edition.
Until then, Happy Scrapping! Hope you have a fun filled National Scrapbooking Day!
